CathyWorks, a Grass Valley, CA, based business owned and operated by Cathy Anderson-Meyers, began in 1994 as a snowshoe guide business.In the winter of 2007-08 Cathy brought her wealth of knowledge to the new REI Outdoor School as a snowshoe instructor. She continues as a personal trainer for women interested in triathlon and fitness as a lifestyle.

In the winter CathyWorks promotes the sport of snowshoeing by leading tours and hikes for businesses, social organizations, schools and public agencies, besides having an extensive public calendar. The company focuses on the beginner/intermediate level and also instructs on equipment, avalanche safety, tracking animals, and locations.

Cathy is a wife and mom, veteran snowshoer, triathlete, and mountain mavin who enjoys the adventure of trying new things. She is certified in Wilderness First Aid and Avalanche Level I, as well as being a product consultant for several outdoor gear companies. She gives snowshoe workshops at REI stores throughout Northern California and Nevada, and to many other interested groups.
